Luis Napoleon Pinzon, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Pinzon is the Medical Director of Bayside Pediatrics. He started his private practice in April 1993 and has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area since 1989. He received his medical degree from the University Of Medicine & Pharmacy in Romania. He then returned to the United States and completed his Pediatric Residency at Staten Island Hospital in Staten Island, New York where he also served as the Chief Resident. He is board certified by The American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Pinzon is fluent in English, Spanish, Romanian, and Italian. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Maria Pinzon, RPh, Practice Administrator
Maria helped build the practice while working as a full time pharmacist for Eckerd’s and later for Medco for 17 years. Although she loves her profession, she decided to work at the office alongside her husband and is the Practice Administrator for many years. Her knowledge and skills in the medical field have helped improve the overall quality of healthcare provided to our patients. After many years she has decided to transition back into her role as a Pharmacist with WellCare in addition to her administrative role with our practice. Maria is an active member of Florida Pharmacist Association, American Pharmacists Association and is a member of MGMA.
Meet Our Pediatricians
Luis Napoleon Pinzon, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Pinzon is the Medical Director of Bayside Pediatrics. He started his private practice in April 1993 and has been practicing in Tampa Bay area since 1989.

Dr. Pinzon is board certified by The American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Pinzon is fluent in English, Spanish, Romanian, and Italian.
Dr. Pinzon is married with two children and on his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Carlos M. Tang Yui, M.D.
Dr. Tang Yui joined Bayside Pediatrics in January 2007. He received his medical degree from the University Of San Martin De Porras in Lima, Peru. He moved to Puerto Rico to complete his Pediatric Residency at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was Chief/Senior Resident. Dr. Tang Yui is board certified by The American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Tang Yui is fluent in English and Spanish. He is married with two children and in his free time enjoys jogging, weight lifting, walking, and collecting diecast cars.
Tamara Brooks, M.D.
Dr. Brooks joined Bayside Pediatrics in October 2016. She received her medical degree from the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine. She moved to Florida to complete her residency at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine. After her residency she moved to Tampa, Florida and joined Bayside Pediatrics. Dr. Brooks is board certified by The American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Brooks is fluent in English. She enjoys reading, crafting and exploring the Tampa area.
Martha Acevedo, M.D.
- Dr. Acevedo joined Bayside Pediatrics in March 2017. She received her medical degree from Universidad Autonoma Ciencias Medicas, Costa Rica. She relocated to St Petersburg, FL where she completed her Pediatric Residency at USF/All Children’s Hospital. Dr. Acevedo practiced in the Tampa Bay area many years before joining Bayside Pediatrics. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric and has a special interest in pediatric dermatology. Dr. Acevedo is fluent in English and Spanish. She is married with 2 children and enjoys cooking and photography.
Maribel Hernandez, APRN, FNP-C
Maribel joined Bayside Pediatrics in 2007. She received her medical degree from the University Of Medical Sciences in Havana, Cuba. She worked as a Family Physician for 14 years in Cuba until moving to the United States. Maribel practiced as a nurse at our practice for 15 years until receiving her Nurse Practitioner Board Certification in 2022. She is board certified by the Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her husband and daughter.
